Prof. Kazimierz Michałowski was the initiator of Polish archaeological excavations in Cyprus in 1965. Since then the research, which has been going on for over 55 years, has revealed extraordinary testimonies of ancient culture and art, at the same time broadening the knowledge about the past of the island.

Why was the Polish Archeology on Cyprus project created?

Polish Archeology in Cyprus (PAC) is a research project aimed at collecting, and presenting Polish scientific activity in the field of archeology, history, and history of art carried out in Cyprus.

The current achievements of Polish scientists in Cyprus include several hundred publications, two active archaeological expeditions, and over a dozen ongoing research projects. Find out more about their subject matter, goals, and achievements.

Who is PAC?

PAC is run and coordinated by an inter-university team of scientists associated with the Jagiellonian University, the University of Warsaw, and the Warsaw University of Technology. The initiator of PAC activities is Prof. Ewdoksia Papuci-Władyka.
